The Port of Rio de Janeiro Maravilha (Beautiful Port), is the new project of restructuring the port area of the municipality of Rio de Janeiro. For many years he had been put in budget planning for the new port area, but without success, because of the negative relationship between the federal government, state and municipal levels.

Thanks to the investments that are being incurred for the events that will be present in the next year in Rio de Janeiro, it was decided to improve and redevelop large areas of the district of Port of Rio de Janeiro, residential and commercial purposes, including the point of reference Pier and Mauá Mauá Praca, which will become the focal point of a large leisure complex as well as streets, squares and parks renovated. There will also be installing new telephone points, new sewers, gas infrastructure and expansion of the existing rail tunnel Provodência Monte, which will result in an improvement of road traffic (by upgrading 70 km of roads).
