Leblon is the most affluent district of Rio de Janeiro, besides being the name of the local beach. The district is located in the southern zone of Rio de Janeiro, between Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, Morro Dois Irmãos and the Jardim de Alá channel, and it is bordered by the Gávea, Ipanema, Lagoa and Vidigal districts.

Leblon was named after a 19th century French businessman, Charles Le Blond, who was the owner of the area. Leblon is similar to Ipanema but even more exclusive, being the home of many rich and famous people. The beach is less crowded, quieter and more relaxed than the hip and trendy beach of Ipanema.
